The Wastewater Specialist is responsible for but not limited to maintaining all plant wastewater operations including troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank, air compressors, making adjustments to polymer feed rates and Ph or water to meet city specifications, performing all required planned maintenance and performing safety checks on assigned equipment in a timely manner adhering to plant safety and GMP standards.Rate of Pay $24.20 an hour. 3rd shift receives a $0.30 shift differential1st Shift Wednesday to Sunday Schedule 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM3rd Shift Wednesday to Sunday Schedule 11:00 AM to 7:00 AM Must be able to work some 12-hour shifts on weekends.Essential Job Functions:Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for positionRegular attendance to ensure production requirements are metAbility to read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in EnglishKnowledge of basic hand/power toolsKnowledge of Planned MaintenanceExcellent communication skillsMust be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work individually as well as with others as a teamIntermediate math and computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheetsAbility to complete work requestsAbility to lift up to 75 lbsMaintain plant wastewater operationsTroubleshoot, maintain, and repair well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank (e.g., electrical, motors, controls, floats, etc.)Monitor and adjust polymer feed ratesMake adjustments to water Ph to ensure it is within city specificationsMaintain plant air compressorsPerform required PM on all required equipment (e.g., filters, coolants, gauges, valves, lubrication, etc.)Perform required safety checks for equipmentMay perform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Basic troubleshooting skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to solve problems independently Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP's, confined spacesKnowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Ability to be LOTO/PIT/Confined Space Entry certifiedMust be able to obtain basic industrial wastewater treatment certification within 6 monthsQualifications:Education:
High school diploma or GED required.Experience Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience in wastewater operations/maintenance of wastewater operations.
