Job SummaryReporting to the Material Planner you will help ensure delivery of materials to support production and distribution operations by managing material planning activities from placing purchase orders, follow up with suppliers to deliver product to production lines, service parts, and contract services. Have an impact on ensuring the plant has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs for its all operations. Provide other support to production and management.Position ResponsibilitiesPerform, cost-conscious procurement of production/inventory/MRO items.Receive and analyze requisitions to determine quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.Ensure inventory levels and safety stock are maintained for their parts.Maintain proactive shortage identification and management - help flag causes and corrective actions.Identify total cost and cash flow opportunities with suppliers.Expedite deliveries to exceed scheduled important requirements.Coordinate with production planners for solutions when parts cannot be delivered as promised.Maintain and evaluate supplier performance and escalate to Procurement when issues occur.Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.Manage internal and VMI material to meet schedules.Preform other responsibilities as assigned.Position QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required, bachelor's degree or applicable experience.Experience with major ERP platforms, Microsoft Excel skillset must include pivot tables, lookup functions and charting.Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. You will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
