Job Description:
Overview The Phlebotomy/Processing Coordinator is responsible
for oversight and day-to-day operation of the laboratory inpatient
and outreach phlebotomy systems according to all applicable laws,
accrediting agencies and policies and procedures in place in the
Laboratory. They are additionally responsible for oversight and day
to day operation of outreach registration processes in accordance
with applicable laws, agencies, policies and procedures. A working
knowledge of laboratory operations inclusive of all pre-analytical;
analytical, and post-analytical testing requirements is essential.
The Coordinator must possess interpersonal skills necessary to
ensure that optimum outcomes are achieved. The Coordinator may also
be called upon to support the Clinical Lab department on issues
relating to customer service and support of all CRMC systems which
provide services to CRMC patients. The Coordinator will demonstrate
a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION: This position is a designated as "Safety
Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An
employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a
threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible
for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related
services. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred/Recommended: Medical Technologist (Bachelors Degree) or
Medical Laboratory Technician (Associate Degree) certification
Knowledge of CLIA; JCAHO and CAP regulatory requirements for
accreditation Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control
requirements for Clinical Laboratories Experience with patient care
processes and phlebotomy techniques Experience with patient and
specimen processing, to include registration and order entry
