Job Description Job Description Description We’re looking for a Casemaker Operator to join our Bindery team. In this role, you’ll operate and maintain casemaking equipment to produce high-quality hardcover book cases while ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Ability to read a ruler and take precise measurements is required! Ruler Test will be conducted during interview! Set up, operate, and troubleshoot the Sheridan Casemaker to meet work order and quality specifications Prepare and assemble materials, monitor glue levels, and feed raw materials efficiently Perform quality checks to ensure correct case size, alignment, and appearance Accurately read rulers and measurement tools; perform basic math (fractions/decimals) for setup and verification Record production counts, complete logbooks and skid tickets, and communicate material needs with forklift operators Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; perform routine cleaning and lubrication Follow ISO, JWI, SOP, and safety standards at all times Perform preventative maintenance and support continuous improvement efforts Skills General labor, Packaging, Inspection, Machine operation, Machine operating, Tape measure, math, Assembly, General production, Hand tool, Mechanical, Load, quality inspection, monitoring tools Top Skills Details General labor,Packaging,Inspection,Machine operation,Machine operating,Tape measure,math,Assembly Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred Requirements Experience operating casemaking or similar bindery/manufacturing equipment Strong ruler-reading and measurement skills (required) Basic computer skills and ability to read and interpret work orders Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and dependable work habits Forklift certification (required or ability to obtain) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Winchester, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
