Job Description:

Primarily responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility and maintaining communication between the organization and the patient referrals and family. Also, responsible for providing professional nursing care to patient in a supportive and therapeutic environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.Conduct pre-admission assessments.Coordinate with referral sources.Respond promptly to inquiry calls.Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment.Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and others involved in patient treatment in an effective manner.Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Prefer one year of nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility.LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:Current RN license as required by state.
