Molex is seeking a motivated and self-driven Automated Hardware Test Engineer to join our team in our Arkansas Design Center located in Conway, AR. This person will be primarily responsible for supporting design of equipment used in electrical testing. This Engineer will support high speed testing equipment used for manufacturing of High Speed cable assemblies based on standards such as Ethernet, Infiniband, Fibre Channel, PCIe, SAS, SATA, etc.

This person will integrate custom designed circuit boards and mechanical fixtures with off-the-shelf test equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules and network analyzers and analysis modules. Perform analysis of test data using statistical modeling tools and perform root cause analysis of rejected parts. Support development and maintenance of hardware and software platforms to support future test requirements.
What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform electrical testing of high speed cable assemblies.
  • Integrate custom designed circuit boards and mechanical fixtures with off-the-shelf test equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules and network analyzers.
  • Analyze test data using statistical modeling tools and perform root cause analysis of rejected parts; identify critical to quality aspects of product design and manufacturing process; perform root cause and corrective action analysis and write reports to summarize findings.
  • Develop, integrate, and make software upgrades to high speed test systems used across multiple manufacturing regions including China, Philippines, India and Mexico.
  • Support software development activities with design center direction, including product development, manufacturing, marketing, and quality.
  • Work closely with multifunctional teams to upgrade globally deployable automated production test systems for cable assembly products.
  • Maintain records for project execution, schedule, and budget.
  • Create system designs which includes coordination of: mechanical fixture design, PCB design, hardware integration, software development, system documentation, and performance testing and characterization.
  • Create test plans, conduct software reviews, perform system verification and validation, analyze and resolve failure modes and document results.
  • Create product and test system documentation, specifications, and work instructions.

    The Experience You Will Bring

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree
    • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR modules and/or VNA (in course work or job related)
    • Experience software development processes
    • Experience with test system operations
    • Experience setting up test equipment
    • Experience with C, Python or other programming languages to automate processes (compiled programming languages such as C/C++, VB, C#, .NET)
    • Experience analyzing data, applying logical reasoning, making test assumptions, observing results and making corrections

      What Will Put You Ahead

      • Master's degree in one of the following: Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science or related technical degree
      • Understanding of High Speed cable products
      • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers
      • Knowledge of RF/microwave transmission line theory
      • Experience using relational databases with software such as Microsoft SQL or MySQL
      • RF/microwave circuit design and PCB layout with software such as Mentor Graphics PADS or Cadence Allegro
      • Electromagnetic simulation with software such as Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
      • Lean/six sigma yellow or green belt training
