Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Controller to join a dynamic, family-owned construction
company based in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role will oversee all
accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and
financial reporting, while collaborating closely with project
managers and other team members. The ideal candidate thrives in a
hands-on environment and is excited about contributing to a
laid-back yet detail-oriented workplace. Responsibilities: • Manage
all accounts payable processes, including invoice coding,
processing, and payment issuance. • Oversee accounts receivable,
ensuring timely and accurate billing on a monthly basis. •
Administer weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with tax
regulations. • Prepare monthly financial statements and collaborate
with external auditors for biannual reviews. • Conduct bank and
account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. • Handle
quarterly tax returns and payroll tax filings. • Coordinate
insurance audits and maintain compliance with insurance
requirements. • Support HR functions such as onboarding, benefits
administration, and employee record management. • Work closely with
project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve budgeting and forecasting
processes within the organization. • Minimum of 5 years of
accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks in
a fast-paced environment. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable,
accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. •
Familiarity with construction accounting practices and cost coding.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred, but
equivalent experience will be considered. • Proficiency in
accounting software, with experience in Job Power being a plus. •
Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Adaptability
to contribute in a small office setting and wear multiple hats as
needed.
